hands of hope

We provided funding support for Hands of Hope, a charity enabling people and communities to lead healthier and happier lives by connecting them to nature and each other.

Struggling to secure capital funding to extend much needed facilities at Hope Farm Community Garden to improve accessibility and widen our reach, Starling Support CIC, notably Charlie, was recommended by CAP Enterprises, as a leading, regional expert in advising small, community-based charities on fundraising strategies with a particular talent for devising content that brings a project to life for potential funders. Although we had enjoyed success in support of project and core funding, post COVID, capital was particularly hard to secure, but with dedicated support and direction from Charlie, Hands of Hope were able to invite potential funders to site, encouraging them to share our vision and ultimately secured the support required to complete works on a new Community Kitchen and Cookery School, Victorian Glasshouse and large Learning Centre, improving equity of access for life-improving activities aligned to Growing, Cooking and Nature, ensuring no-one gets left behind. Charlie made the difference.

disability assist for independent living

Disability Assist is a charity run by disabled people which helps people with disabilities in Kent to live more independent lives.

Starlings Support supported us during the mobilisation of a new contract but we have continued working with them during a time of transformation for our charity. Starlings has worked with us to professionalise and to take our charity to the next level.
I particularly like how support we receive is on our terms, designed to fit our need and crucially our budget! The board and staff feel reassured that we are being supported by experts in their field and moving to a more sustainable future.

primal roots cic

We worked with this exciting new social enterprise whose passion is improving everyone’s fitness. We are proud to have helped them to develop their business plan.

As social entrepreneurs we’re so focused on delivering an excellent service for our customers and maximising health and wellbeing for those we care most passionately about helping: people who are homeless and/or in recovery from addiction; that it’s really hard to keep on top of all the other things we need to do, such as business planning, impact reporting and bid writing, (to mention just a few). That’s why we love Starlings. The depth of their experience in these matters is incredible, matched by their efficiency and integrity. But most importantly to us, they care about what we’re doing as much as we do and they are always super friendly, not to mention patient, (with entrepreneurs full of hare-brained ideas!). We cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

newington community association

We supported this small, resident-led charity to create a business development plan, develop systems and to apply for a Community Asset Transfer.

We have had a long relationship with the Starlings team and have found them to be both professional and helpful at all times. We look forward to continuing this working relationship which will benefit both the community centre and the community of Newington in general.
